Our Terms and Conditions of Use describe what SocioLadder does for you and the charities and other causes you support and what we require of you as a user.

In these Terms and Conditions of Use, the following terms have the meanings given to them below.

Campaigners/Causes/Charities: Organizations in Dubai which are registered with SocioLadder are permitted to host campaigns on the website in accordance with SocioLadder policies and Government laws including by the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD).

Donors: Individuals 18 years and over who may register on our Website and who hold a valid bank account (in UAE or outside), Donors can make donations via the Website, gratuitous or otherwise. Donors can make contributions towards any campaign listed on the Website. Donors can contribute to more than one campaign at a given time as well.

SocioLadder: or "we", “us", "our" refer to Socio Tech Ventures FZ-LLC, the owner of the Website.

Users: Referred to as “you”, “your” or “user” is any person that uses our website to make a donation and/or registers to the website. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your username & password, details regarding the donations received and/or given, details regarding the donor and for all the various activities that occur through your account.

1.1  This section contains information about our Website setting out the Terms and Conditions of Use of our Website and Services (“Terms”) which apply to your use of the Website and other products and the services we make available to you (“Services”).


Any contribution made on the Website by you should not be construed as an investment in any form whatsoever. We are not a broker, financial adviser, bank, financial institution, or charity. We do not provide financial advice or financial returns in any form whatsoever, and are therefore not authorised or regulated.  We are only a service provider to enable NGOs and other causes to be marketed, publicized, made aware of or campaigned for.

1.3 Please read the Terms carefully. By using our Website, you are entering into a contract with us. The Terms along with any policies referred to set out your obligations with us. If you DO NOT AGREE with any of the Terms, please do not access the Website or utilise any of the Services offered.

1.4  We may update these Terms and our Privacy Policy from time to time. It’s your responsibility to review these Terms wherever you access the Website. If changes are made to these Terms, your continued use of the Website, after such changes are made, will signify your acceptance and agreement to be bound by the revised Terms and/or Privacy Policy (as the case may be).


2.1. The Website is a domain, owned and operated by us, a privately-owned company registered in the UAE under an IP license from Universal Equity Ventures, USA (and/or its affiliates), the sole owner of the technology and intellectual property.

2.2. The Website is a crowdfunding platform which connects causes of approved charities who have obtained campaign license from IACAD to potential Donors and vice a versa. You acknowledge and understand that we only provide users with a platform for communication and the agreed transaction is only between the person contributing and person receiving them.

2.3. The Website is a platform where Donors meet and interact with various Campaigners and representatives of Causes of various not-for-profit or non-governmental organizations (referred to together as “NGOs”). All information provided is by the NGOs who initiate their fundraiser, afte receiving due approvals from IACAD and other government agencies, with the help of campaigners, which SocioLadder platform features in the crowdfunding platform, at its own discretion.


The Website and its associated services allow you to donate to and raise funds for any Cause listed on the Website. Every Cause featured has an agreement with us authorising us to facilitate donations on its behalf. Causes are listed on this Website at our discretion and subject to satisfying the approval process, both set by us and those set by the government; however, we are not responsible for the activities of the Cause, as required by the local laws of the territory in which it operates.


4.1. We are unable to refund donations at any time and Donors will need to contact the Causes and or Campaigners directly for a refund request. We do not have any control over the refund process including whether a refund is made, whether it is subject to any deductions of any applicable transaction and payment processing fees. We shall not be responsible for, nor accept any liability, the refund process.

4.2. When you make a donation, the transaction is final not disputable unless unauthorised use of your payment card or other payment method is proved. If you become aware of fraudulent use of your card, or if it is lost or stolen, you must notify your card provider in accordance with its reporting rules. Similarly, if you experience any issues of this nature when using another payment method, you should contact the provider of that payment method for assistance. The risk and responsibility of any and all financial transactions are solely the responsibility of the Payment Gateway Interface, the Card Issuer and the Acquiring Bank for an internet banking transaction. SocioLadder’s liability is limited to AED1,000 singularly and cumulatively for any transaction done on its domain.


5.1. SocioLadder does not represent or warrant that your donations will be used for any particular purpose and shall not be responsible for any dissatisfaction you may have regarding a use of any donation you may make through the Website or its associated services or websites powered by us for any misuse or non-use  of such donations by the Cause.

NOTE: for donations made via the Website, you may receive updates from the campaign creator or the charity that is running the program, to let you know more about their Cause and its outcomes. If you would like to stop receiving emails, you will be able to select this option in the email footer of the emails you receive from the campaign creator.

5.2. Please note that the Causes reserve the right to use your donation for their general purposes in accordance with their practices and rules. We shall not be responsible for ensuring that funds are earmarked for a particular appeal or campaign.

5.3. The Website will only feature Causes and Campaigners who are authorised to raise donations by the IACAD authority in Dubai and by such other authorities as mandated in other emirates of the United Arab Emirates. SocioLadder will have no liability to Donors whatsoever for any use or misuse of donations made via SocioLadder. SocioLadder only presents the information supplied by the Causes and Campaigners in connection with how they will use donations for a specific purpose, but we cannot guarantee that they will use the donations for that purpose. If you require clarification, you should contact the charity or campaigner directly. It is your sole responsibility, as a user of the Website, to ensure that the cause stated to be supported on a relevant page is one that you wish to support.


When you register with SocioLadder and choose a password to protect your secure account, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password to prevent others gaining access to your personal information. This includes any taxpayer details you may have saved under your profile in order to claim tax or tax deductions in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. Claiming tax or tax deductions using someone else’s taxpayer information is against the law. If you become aware of any unauthorised use of your account, we recommend that you change your password immediately and contact us at [email protected]


Any user may make a donation for a campaign with registration duly completed but on an “anonymous” mode, if you desire to do so. However all of your details are captured by the system and shared with authorities, in compliance with KYC norms applicable in the jurisdiction of United Arab Emirates. You may also donate without creating a “donor” registered account, however your details as a donor is collected and stored.

7.1. It is a condition of use of the Website that donations may only be made by users over the age of 18. Any user under the age of 18 years should access the Website only with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian, provided the parent or legal guardian agrees to be bound by the Terms and SocioLadder policies and agrees to be bound by the Terms as though they were contracting directly with us..

7.2. You agree all the information provided to SocioLadder is true to your knowledge and complete. If any information provided is inconsistent, incorrect, misleading or not in accordance with SocioLadder policies, we reserve the right to indefinitely suspend, block access or terminate your registration with SocioLadder, at our sole discretion, without providing any reason to you and without the liability to make any payment to you, whatsoever.


8.1. SocioLadder does not charge any fee for browsing on its Website.

8.2. Donors are charged 0 percentage fee for the donations they make

8.3. We however charge charities and campaigners a certain fee to cover the cost of our services, the same is governed by terms of agreement that we have with the charities and campaigners directly.

8.4. SocioLadder reserves the right to change its pricing policy from time to time, at its sole discretion, including to introduce new features and services offered on the Website and/or modify existing features and services.


9.1. When you use the Website or send e-mails or transmit other data, information or communication to SocioLadder, you agree and understand that you are communicating with SocioLadder via electronic records and you consent to receive communications via electronic records from SocioLadder periodically, and as and when required.

9.2. For any material changes, SocioLadder may take reasonable steps to notify  you of such changes via e-mail, or by using the Service interface. Your continued use of the Services after the date any such changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.

9.3. You should return to these Terms periodically to ensure familiarity with the most current version of the Terms. The date on which these Terms were last updated is provided at the top of this document.


We understand and take measures to protect your personal information. We store and process your information, including sensitive financial information collected, if any, in accordance with the applicable law.

If the User breaches any of these Terms and any of our policies in any way, we may take any actions as deemed appropriate to deal with the breach, including suspension of access to the Website and/or Services, blocking computers using your IP address from accessing the Website, contacting your internet service provider to request that they block your access to the Website and/or bringing court proceedings upon you.


12.1. You must at all times use the Website and the Services in a responsible and legal manner and ensure that the content you provide does not breach any intellectual property rights of a third party or breach any right or duty owed to a third party.

12.2. Minors, un-discharged insolvents, etc. are not eligible to use the Website without the consent of a parent or their respective legal guardians. Such persons shall not register on SocioLadder, transact directly, or use the Website without obtaining such necessary consent.

12.3. Users shall not engage in activities that will cause wrongful gain or loss to any person.

12.4. While using the Website or the Services, you agree to refrain the usage so that there is no adverse effect on the performance or function of the Website and or the Services.

12.5. Users must not:

12.5.1.    provide misleading information to SocioLadder, including misrepresent your identity or affiliation with any other person or organisation.

12.5.2.    upload unlawful, objectionable, offensive, obscene, racist, defamatory or deceptive content, including links where such material may be published or photographs, on to the Website or its associated services. We do not actively edit the Website but reserve the right to remove or edit any content posted on the Website or its associated services at our sole discretion and without notice, regardless of whether or not it is, in the opinion of any third party, offensive, obscene, racist, defamatory, misleading, deceptive or otherwise inappropriate. 12.5.3.    attempt to modify, adapt, sell, reverse engineer, disassemble or decompile any portion of the Website or Service.

12.5.4.    upload information that may contain viruses, trojans, worms, destructive programming routines that are intended to damage the system.

12.5.5.    conduct any crawling, scraping, indexing, framing, in-line linking or other methods of association with the Website, by any means, including accessing the Website by automated means (such as robots or spiders), are expressly prohibited without prior written approval from SocioLadder. SocioLadder may allow operators of public search engines to use spiders to index materials from the Website for the sole purpose of creating publicly available searchable indices of the materials, but not caches or archives of such materials.

12.6. Users shall not, without SocioLadder's express written consent:

12.6.1.    use any trade-name, trademark, or brand name of SocioLadder in meta-tags, keywords and/or hidden text;

12.6.2.    create derivative works from or commercially exploit the Website, Service or the content, in whole or in part, in any way.

12.7. Users shall not alter, remove or obscure any copyright notice, digital watermarks, proprietary legends or any other notice included in the Website, Service or any content. Except as expressly provided herein, nothing via the Service shall be construed as conferring any license under SocioLadder's and/or its licensors' intellectual property rights, whether by estoppel, implication or otherwise. Notwithstanding anything herein to the contrary, SocioLadder may revoke any of the foregoing rights and/or your access to the Website and the Service, or any part thereof, including the blocking of your IP Address, at any time without prior notice.

12.8. SocioLadder reserves the right to cancel your access and delete any SocioLadder page without notice in the event you fail to follow any of the above rules. SocioLadder may also suspend or delete a SocioLadder page if the relevant Cause is no longer receiving donations via SocioLadder or is no longer active.

13.    You acknowledge and agree that where there is any actual or threatened breach of these Terms, damages may be an inadequate remedy and we will be entitled, without prejudice to any other rights and remedies it may have, to seek an injunction or any other equitable relief for such breach. We may also request that you destroy any data you have gathered or extracted in breach of these Terms and you agree that you will comply with such request promptly and certify the same.


14.1. All information provided with respect of a campaign is provided by the Campaigner only and SocioLadder is only a marketing service platform provider.

14.2. SocioLadder platform is designed to be in alignment with the rules and regulations of the governing bodies that govern charity in  UAE, the onus of compliance to law is SOLELY that of the Charities/Causes and campaigners that list on Socioladder.

14.3. The Website serves as a platform to bring together donors to interact with Causes in UAE that require such funds for legitimate reasons. Donors utilize the platform/Website to make such donations towards a campaign of their choice, based on representations of Campaigners or representatives of NGOs and enter into transactions for making contributions or sharing information.

14.4. Users are urged to independently verify the veracity of any statements made by Campaigners and charities on the Website. We accept no liability for any errors or omissions with respect to such campaigns, whether on behalf of itself or any of the Campaigner or Charity.


15.1. All Campaigners are legally bound to:
15.1.1.    provide accurate, true and correct information; and

15.1.2.    ensure all the donations received are being used solely as described in the campaign.

15.2. SocioLadder reserves the right to delete any campaign or restrict access of any Campaigner if there is enough evidence, in SocioLadder’s sole opinion, to confirm the information provided in the campaign is false and/or does not depict the true nature of the campaign and/or is misleading in any manner.

15.3.    SocioLadder shall not be held responsible for any default/non-performance on part of the Campaigner. We legally would not be held responsible for any dispute or disagreement between Donors and the Campaigners.

15.4. You, as a Campaigner, shall be required to register yourself with SocioLadder and provide us with all the relevant and necessary information as may be deemed appropriate by us from time to time, and as per our Privacy Policy.

15.5. The Campaigner is required to fulfill commitments made to the Donor in the manner detailed in the campaign, and within a reasonable time.

15.6. SocioLadder may seek information regarding the utilization of funds raised by the Campaigner, even after the campaign has ended, and may subsequently provide such details to the Donors without assuming any liability therefore.

15.7. SocioLadder has a policy of showcasing measurable impact for every dollar raised on the platform. Users agree and acknowledge that they would adhere to comply with disclosure to the donors of social and other impact that their programs result in. The reporting standards shall be in compliance to aligning with United Nations SDG Goals and the standards followed by the Global Reporting Institute (GRI)

15.8. Funds raised per campaign shall be transferred to respective charities directly, as per the regulations of UAE, after deduction of such service charges and bank charges that have been pre-agreed with the Charities by SocioLadder.


16.1. SocioLadder lists campaigns only approved by IACAD and other local governing bodies in UAE, however as a Donor you should conduct independent due diligence with respect to any information/ campaign listed by the Campaigner, if need be.

16.2. As a Donor you will receive timely updates on the campaign via email, courtesy of the campaigner or charity. If you wish to opt-out of the Services, you may unsubscribe from the same.

16.3. You shall receive an electronic receipt for every donation made. If you do not receive the same, please write to us on [email protected]

16.4. All transactions will be acceptable in “AED” only, unless explicitly stated in the campaign, and or if the payment gateway auto-converts the currency to the native currency of your domicile.

16.5. SocioLadder reserves the right to refuse to process donations by Donors that have a history of questionable transactions. This includes, without limitation, suspected collusion between the Donor and Campaigner to bring about false impressions, mislead other Users or breach/violate any law or further any charges imposed by issuing banks, or generally a breach of any policies or laws. If SocioLadder suspects, or has reasonable cause to doubt the credibility of the Donor and/or Campaigner, we shall transfer the funds received from Donors back to such Donors after deducting fees as may be payable to payment facilities involved in such transfer and re-transfer of funds. We may also delist the campaign, or remove the campaign from the Website entirely, or stop the provision of any or all services at any time, at our sole discretion.

16.6. SocioLadder may delay notifying payment/transaction confirmations if we suspect any transaction as suspicious and shall intimate the campaigner of the same. SocioLadder has a strict policy against money laundering and terrorist financing as per the strict regulations of the monetary authority and ministry of finance of respective emirates of the UAE. You shall indemnify us for any and all losses, damages, fines and sanctions, whether direct or indirect, arising in connection with any suspicious or unlawful transactions.

16.7. Donor is aware and understands that SocioLadder shall transfer donations after deducting its applicable costs, charges and fees based on its agreements with the charities and campaigners. No refund of donation is allowed


You may not use the "SocioLadder" name, the Website, the SocioLadder logo and any other product and service names that we may present on the Website or its associated services from time to time, in connection with any product or service that is not SocioLadder's, nor in any manner that is likely to cause confusion or that will discredit SocioLadder. Other trademarks, service marks or logos (whether registered or not) that appear on the Website or its associated services, are the property (but not exclusively) those of owners and subject to restrictions as to their use. They must not be used without the permission of SocioLadder and/or the trademark owner, as the case may be.


All content on the Website and its associated services is owned by SocioLadder, our Causes, Campaigners or other original providers, and is protected by the applicable intellectual property and proprietary rights and laws. You may copy content for your own personal, non-commercial use provided you do not alter it or remove any copyright, trade mark or other proprietary notice, and that your usage complies with any requests you may receive from any person with rights in that content. Unless permitted pursuant to these Terms, no other use of the Website's and its associated services' content is permitted without the express prior permission of SocioLadder, and, where applicable, the copyright holder.


19.1. We promise that we will operate the Website with reasonable care and skill, to the fullest permissible by applicable law.

19.2. We disclaim any and all promises, warranties, conditions or representations relating to the Website, whether express, implied, oral or written, such as:

19.2.1.    We do not make any promises as to the truth and accuracy of the content that appears on the Website and you should not rely fully on it being accurate.

19.2.2.    We are not responsible for verifying the ownership of any content posted on the Website.

19.2.3.    Any comments posted reflect that person's opinion and should not reflect the views of SocioLadder, and none acts as agent on our behalf.

19.2.4.    Your access and use of the Website and any of the Services is on an “as is” and “as available” basis and you agree that your use of the Website and any of the Services is at your own risk. We do not have control or knowledge over the particular purposes for which the information and content available on the Website in relation to the Causes and or Campaigns. Our content is provided for information only. We exclude any liability for any loss of any nature suffered by you as a direct or indirect result of your use of any of the information or content available on the Website or of making any decision, or refraining from making any such decision, based wholly or partly on any expression of opinion, statement or other information contained in the content available on the Website.

19.2.5.    By using the Website you acknowledge and accept the inherent risks, characteristics and limitations of the internet, particularly in terms of technical performance of the Website, response times to view, verify or transfer information; and the risks inherent in all third party links, connections and transfers via the internet. Accordingly, subject to clause 19.5 of these Terms:

a) we are not responsible for any data or information uploaded by any users including any content posted, uploaded or published. It is your responsibility to make backup copies of any of the content you post, upload or publish on the Website and we strongly recommend that you do so;

b) we are not liable for any inaccuracy, delay, interruption in service, error or omission (regardless of cause) or for any damages as a result;

c) we make no promises in respect of any harm that may be caused by the transmission of a computer virus, worm, time bomb, Trojan horse, cancelbot, logic bomb or any other form of programming routine designed to damage, destroy or otherwise impair a computer's functionality or operation including transmission arising from your download of any content, software you use to download the content, the Website or the server(s) that make it available. In this respect you agree that it is your responsibility to install suitable anti-virus and security software on your computer hardware and other devices to protect against any such bugs, viruses or other such harmful programming routines. Any content downloaded or otherwise obtained through the use of the Website is done at your own risk and you will be solely responsible for any damage to your computer system or loss of data that results from the download of any such content; and

d) whilst we hope that you will find the websites linked to on the Website of interest, no responsibility of any nature whatsoever is accepted for any such links or any information contained in them.

19.3. Neither we, not any of our affiliates, agents, officers, employees, suppliers or licensors are liable to your or anyone else for any:

19.3.1.    damages, including, without limitation, any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, exemplary or similar damages, regardless of the theory of liability and even if advised of the possibility of such damages in advance;

19.3.2.    loss or injury resulting from use of the content or our Website, in whole or part, whether caused by negligence or contingencies beyond its control in procuring, compiling, interpreting, reporting or delivering the Site and its content or otherwise;

19.3.3. losses, damages, liabilities, claims or expenses (including without limitation to legal costs and defence or settlement costs) whatsoever, whether direct, indirect or consequential, arising out of or referable to your use of our Website or its content or the Services howsoever caused, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), statute or otherwise; or

19.3.4.    loss resulting from a cause over which we do not have control.

19.4. Our total liability to you in connection with these Terms, and any other terms you may subscribe to in connection with your use of SocioLadder, shall not exceed AED 1,000 (one thousand).

19.5. You shall indemnify us in full in respect of any liability incurred by us for any loss, cost, damage, or expense howsoever caused, or suffered by us as a result of your breach of these Terms. Where you use our Website or the Services inappropriately or maliciously, you agree that you will indemnify us against any losses suffered by us or any third parties as a result of or in connection with such use.


You may discontinue use of the Website and any Services at any time. These Terms will continue to apply to your past use.


A person who is not a party to these Terms has no right to enforce any term of these Terms.


These Terms govern our relationship with you and represent our entire agreement with you.


Events or circumstances beyond our reasonable control. If we are prevented or delayed from complying with our obligations under these Terms by anything you (or anyone acting on your behalf) does or fails to do or due to events or circumstances beyond our reasonable control, we will not be deemed to be in breach of contract. Such circumstances include, but are not limited to, fire, flood and other acts of God, strikes, trade disputes, lock outs, restrictions of imports or exports, riot, accident, disruption to energy supplies, civil commotion, acts of terrorism or war.


If you breach these Terms and we choose to ignore your breach, we will still be entitled to use our rights and remedies at a later date or in any other situation where you breach the Terms again.


These Terms, and any rights and licenses granted hereunder, may not be transferred or assigned by you, but may be assigned by SocioLadder without restriction.


Any disputes or claims between us arising out of or in connection with these Terms or any contract made under them (including non-contractual disputes or claims) are governed by and construed in accordance with the law of Dubai.  You irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of the Dubai International Financial Centre over any claim or matter arising under or in connection with these Terms and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of the Dubai International Financial Centre in connection with the same.
